Message From The Helm

Hello Sailors

What’s your happy place? On a boat I suspect. Otherwise you would not be reading this newsletter. We do provide a wide variety of boats for sale. Whether a small sail boat, a multi hull or a superyacht we have deliberately acquired the most coveted agencies in the world to provide every buyer a boat to suit them.

But that’s not all. This week international giant Ardell Yacht Brokerage approached Yachtfinders Global with a request to sign a joint central listing on a superyacht Nauta 76 ‘Zulu’ . Ardell had heard that Yachtfinders Global was a ‘professional company with expertise in the yachting industry worldwide’. So if you are looking for a superyacht or a small sail boat, new or used, whatever the size, then make Yachtfinders Global your first port of call and allow the decision making to be easier.

Meantime, another new Beneteau arrives tomorrow, will be commissioned then handed over to the client to take in the remainder of the summer out on the water. Yes, in his ‘happy place’. And you?

Happy Sailing

Here's something that will get you giggling!

Q. What goes up when the rain comes down?

A. An umbrella!

Did you know?

Even before dinosaurs roamed the earth, sharks hunted through the oceans!  They're such good survivors that they've had little need to evolve in the last 150 million years.

Could this be you?

The majority of General/Broadform/Public Liability policies have a Marine Exclusion or limit the amount of cover provided. This is why companies that actively work on vessels require a Ship Repairer’s Liability product which does not have this exclusion, thus providing correct cover. Without Ship Repairer’s Liability the majority of contractors fail to have appropriate cover and in the event of a major claim their policy is completely inadequate.

Do not be disappointed. Do not allow contractors to work on your boat without this cover. Do check to see whether those working on your boat provide correct cover for loss of, or damage to a third party. Call Daniel Garner of PIC for further clarification. Ph 09 274 5751.

How Sensible are You?

Sensible comments ‘This summer has seen record drownings in New Zealand and in many, many cases common sense seems to have been discarded in favour of no lifejackets, no swimming skills, heavy clothing, jeans and booze. On Monday at Tiritiri Matangi this group took some beating in the stupidity stakes.

I know yachties are experts at everything and immune to any form of danger, but this lot had a good 200m to go to their boat, there was not a lifejacket in sight, the freeboard was equally non-existent, the woman was nervous, the older guy with the backpack seemed real keen to get back onboard, the driver of the duckie with the two-horse motor was casual to the point of ignorance and the child was having a lovely time up the sharp end not sensing any danger. Anyone even moving suddenly would have sent this lot into the water and the result could have been another tragic statistic.'

Best wishes on or off the water,

The Yachtfinders Global Team
